TOWN HIGHWAY CULVERT IMPROVEMENTS

General Notice

The Town of Worcester (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:

TOWN HIGHWAY CULVERT IMPROVEMENTS

Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Town Municipal Offices located at 20 Worcester Village Road, Worcester, VT 05682, until May 19, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. local time. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. The final decision on award will be completed by the Selectboard at their subsequent meeting.

The Project includes the following Work:

Roadway improvements including culvert replacements, concrete footers/walls, earthwork, traffic control, and associated improvements on: Site 2 – Minister Brook Road at 44.38834/-72.57671, Site 3 – Downs Road at 44.35856/-72.56677, Site 4 – Norton Road West at 44.35535/-72.55789, and Site 5 – Norton Road East at 44.35758/-72.55374 

The Project has a contractual duration of 90 days to substantial completion. Construction cost estimate range is $1,000,000 to $1,500,000.

Obtaining the Bidding Documents

Prospective Bidders may obtain the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office by mail or email. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.

PDF sets of the Bidding Documents are available free of charge. Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office by paying $200for each set (non-refundable).

Pre-bid Conference

A mandatory pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on May 8, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Town Highway Garage at 11 Maxham Drive, Worcester, Vermont (Coordinates are 44.375083, -72.553272). Bids will not be accepted from Bidders that do not attend the mandatory pre-bid conference.

    Worcester needs folks to join the many volunteers already giving their time to make our community function smoothly.

    Particular needs include

    1. Town Health Officer and Deputy Health Officer
    2. Recreation Committee members
    3. Planning Commission members
    4. Tree Warden
    5. Regional Commissioners & Alternate Commissioner, to be on the board with CVRPC (Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission)
    6. Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) & TAC Alternate, (also with CVRPC)

    No specific background is required for any of these positions….simply an interest in serving your community. Back-up expertise is always available through State and Town resources.

    A BIG shout out and THANKS to the folks who have recently joined and now volunteer as Emergency Management Director as well as new Recreation Committee and Planning Commission members!!!!

    How do I file a complaint?

    1. Municipal complaints: Open and save the fillable PDF Complaint Form or fillable Microsoft Word Complaint Form to your computer.

    Dog Licenses

    All dogs must be licensed on or before April 1st every year. If registering after 4/1, there is a late fee of 2.00$/per dog. Dogs must also have a current rabies certificate. We cannot
    process credit or debit cards at this time. Cash, checks or money orders are gratefully accepted.

    FEES:  Neutered/Spayed    11.00$         late fee–> 15.00$

     Not Neutered or Spayed   15.00$  late fee–> 19.00$
